This beautiful Spring Wedding inspiration at the McAlister-Leftwich House in Greensboro North Carolina was the whimsical garden-party inspired wedding of my dreams! The theme for the day was curated by us, but we could not have made it happen without the help of Brandy at Beyond Special Events. We filled the shoot with luxurious pastel pink, blue, yellow, and purple floral arrangements, romantic details, and charming elements that made for an unforgettable celebration.
The McAlister-Leftwich House is a historic mansion located in Greensboro, North Carolina, and is the perfect venue for a whimsical garden-party inspired wedding. The mansion’s stunning grounds are adorned with lush gardens and charming details, creating a magical atmosphere for a romantic and unforgettable wedding celebration. The venue offers several beautiful spaces to choose from, including:
The bride wore a light blue floral gown from one of our favorite local bridal shops, The Magnolia Bride. We chose to dress the groom in a classic black suit. Kaitlyn Elizabeth Styling kept the bridal make up fresh and light. She styled our bridal model’s beautiful red hair into a soft braided knot.
The stunning bridal bouquet and centerpieces by EverBe Floral were bursting with soft pastel blooms, including roses, ranunculus, and delphinium. The color palette for the florals was very intentional and meant to reflect the style of the dress. These flower choices created a lot of movement in the bouquet, adding to the whimsy of the design. The florist used the same flowers in the show-stopping floral installation placed in the iconic bay window of the Leftwich House where the ceremony was held.
The butterfly theme was incorporated throughout the wedding shoot, from the stunning butterfly-adorned invitation suite by the Smokey Rose Press, to the butterfly napkin holders at the reception table. The theme was a nod to my love for nature and gardening, and the whimsical beauty of springtime in North Carolina.
The spring color palette was reflected in the beautiful cake designed by Sweet Revenge Eden. We love how they incorporated the soft airbrushed colors, florals, and gold leaf.
A family-style reception tables adorned with elegant place settings, silver flatware, and soft candlelight was chosen to highlight the intimacy of weddings at this venue. The table and other rentals were provided by Twice Loved Vintage. The tables were decorated with lush floral arrangements in shades of pink, blue, yellow, and purple. It is so easy to picture guests enjoying a delicious meal featuring fresh, seasonal ingredients here!
A unique touch to the reception set-up was an adorable coffee cart on the Lawn, serving up specialty drinks and treats to guests throughout the evening. We couldn’t resist the umbrella element of this bicycle cart provided by the Thirsty Buffalo. The cart was decorated with floral arrangements and butterfly details, adding to the charming atmosphere of the celebration.
We chose the main space of the Leftwich House’s as the ceremony space. The talented harpist, from Lune River Harpist Studio, provided beautiful music to accompany the ceremony. The ethereal and soothing sounds of the harp created an enchanting atmosphere, setting the tone for the rest of the day.
Including a classic blue and white Chevy as the getaway car was the perfect addition to the wedding day. At the end of the shoot, they made their way to the car for some final photos. We repurposed the beautiful floral installation and draped it across the car.
This whimsical garden-party inspired wedding shoot was an amazing opportunity to show how charming and romantic Spring Wedding at the McAlister-Leftwich House in Greensboro, North Carolina can be. The luxurious pastel floral arrangements, butterfly details, family-style reception tables, harpist during the ceremony, and classic blue getaway car all added to the magical atmosphere of the celebration. This shoot was a beautiful reminder of the whimsical beauty of springtime in North Carolina and will be remembered by the couple and their guests for years to come. The McAlister-Leftwich House’s beautiful spaces and lush gardens made for the perfect venue for this enchanting wedding styled shoot.
