Boho Mini Sessions at the Little Chapel

Boho Mini Sessions at the Little Chapel in Winston-Salem Are the Perfect Way to Kick Off Spring! 

Last spring, I had the opportunity to schedule  a series of boho mini portrait sessions. We hosted them  in the Grove at the Little Chapel in Winston Salem. I had a dream of parking a vintage VW Camper van in a meadow and making some magic in the soft, spring light. I’m so glad so many people also liked my vision!

The Set Up

To create a stunning backdrop for these portraits, we incorporated a range of boho elements. A classic Volkswagen camper van served as the perfect centerpiece for our shoot, adorned with colorful florals and greenery. We also brought in a peacock chair, macrame, and other boho-inspired decor to create a dreamy, ethereal atmosphere in the Grove.

As we set up our equipment and prepared to start shooting, we kept a watchful eye on the weather. Spring weather can be unpredictable, and the threat of rain was a constant concern. But despite the chilly air and the potential for rain, we were determined to create beautiful portraits of our clients in this picturesque setting.

Throughout the day, we had the pleasure of working with a variety of clients, from young couples to families with children. Each person brought their unique energy and personality to the shoot. We had a blast capturing their individuality on camera.

The Light

One of the joys of working at the Little Chapel  was the opportunity to play with the natural light. It was overcast most of the day. But every now and then the sun’s rays peeked through the trees, casting a warm, golden glow on our subjects. We also experimented with different angles and poses to create a variety of looks and moods in each portrait.

Despite the weather, we were able to create stunning portraits of our clients in the grove at the Little Chapel. The unique personality of each individual made for a truly magical day of shooting. There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the smiles on our clients’ faces as they see captured memories of a day they’ll never forget.
