This wedding was featured in the Winston-Salem Journal!
Immaculate and Nathon’s African Fusion Wedding in Winston Salem was nothing short of extraordinary. Immaculate, who moved to North Carolina from Minnesota five years ago, met Nathon on Tinder. As she lovingly shared with us, it was Nathon who convinced her to stay in North Carolina. After five years of building a life together, he popped the question.
Immaculate shared that she fell in love with our bright and vibrant editing style. She mentioned this when we first connected, and it’s always so meaningful when couples resonate with our work like that. Immaculate and Nathon both love taking photos and traveling together. Therefore, capturing their love story through beautiful, timeless images was a priority for them.
One of the most memorable parts of the day was their first look. Nathon, who is quite shy, wanted this moment to be private and intimate, so they exchanged private vows. It was a tender moment, full of emotion. They stood quietly in the midst of the beautiful surroundings of the Barn at Reynolda Village. The love between them was palpable, and it was an honor to document such an important part of their day.
I can’t forget to mention how stunning Immaculate looked. Her striking features were highlighted with hair and makeup by I Am Oh Too Cute. The stunning bridal gown worn by Immaculate was from The Magnolia Bride. This gown was absolutely breathtaking on her!
Immaculate’s large family, many of whom traveled from Minnesota, Canada, and Kenya, filled the ceremony and reception with love, laughter, and meaningful traditions. While the ceremony was a simple, elegant American ceremony, the reception incorporated cultural elements that honored Immaculate’s Kenyan roots.
The family gave beautiful speeches filled with heartfelt advice. One of the highlights was when both the couple and guests were dressed in traditional Kenyan lesos. This added such a rich cultural significance to the day. The celebration culminated in a special dance that brought all of the guests together. It was a joyful, lively moment that truly reflected the couple’s love and their connection to their family and culture.
One of the most delightful surprises of the day was the fully vegan meal. Both Nathon and Immaculate are vegan, and they treated their guests to an incredible vegan menu that left everyone raving. The Little Chef Co created the perfect meal for the wedding guests to savor. The wedding cake by To Your Health Bakery was also vegan. We were all amazed by how delicious everything was! It was a beautiful reflection of the couple’s values and their desire to share that with their loved ones.
For Immaculate, portraits were a key part of the day. She wanted to ensure that every moment, especially the moments shared between her and Nathon, were captured with care and detail. With the scenic backdrop of the Barn at Reynolda Village and the couple’s vibrant connection, these portraits turned out to be absolutely stunning.
Overall, Nathon and Immaculate’s wedding was a beautiful blend of love, culture, and unforgettable moments. It was an honor to be part of their special day, capturing memories they’ll cherish forever.
