Charleston Engagement Session | Josh & Evan’s Love Story
Charleston, South Carolina is one of our most favorite locations for an engagement session. It has a way of stealing hearts with its historic charm, cobblestone streets, and stunning waterfront views. For Josh and Evan, it has become more than just a beautiful city. Charleston holds special meaning in their love story. Their Charleston engagement session was not only a celebration of their upcoming wedding, but a tribute to a place they have both grown to adore.
How We Met Josh & Evan
I first met Josh through one of our sweet brides, Courtney. Josh was the incredible wedding planner who helped make her big day flawless. We connected instantly during Courtney’s wedding. When Josh began planning his own wedding with Evan, I was thrilled when they reached out to me to capture their wedding journey. Josh and Evan are both North Carolina natives. While they plan to get married close to family, Charleston was the perfect choice for their engagement session.

Through his many trips, they’ve both fallen in love with its charm and timeless beauty. Starting at Battery Park
We kicked off their session at Battery Park, a location steeped in history and full of southern elegance. The iconic oak trees draped in Spanish moss provided the perfect backdrop for those early moments of the session. Josh and Evan’s connection was evident from the very first shot. They were full of laughter, smiles, and a sense of ease that made my job as a photographer effortless.
Exploring Rainbow Row
From Battery Park, we strolled down the cobblestone streets, making our way to one of Charleston’s most famous landmarks, Rainbow Row. The pastel-colored historic homes, with their vibrant hues and charming details, made for the perfect pop of color in their photos. It was a wonderful blend of sophistication and fun. We captured both the vibrant energy of the city and the joy Josh and Evan share.
Finishing Along the Waterfront
For the final part of their session, we moved to the Waterfront walk, where the soft glow of the setting sun added a romantic touch to the photos. This peaceful spot was a beautiful contrast to the lively streets of Charleston, offering a serene and intimate setting. Some of my favorite photos from the day were taken here—Josh and Evan, side by side, with the calming waves as their backdrop, capturing the essence of their love.
