Kristina and Jaysien’s wedding day was filled with color, culture, and heartfelt moments. Their Indian Fusion Wedding at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, North Carolina, blended tradition, faith, and personality into one joyful destination celebration. Although they’re both from New York, they chose the Grandover Resort for its beauty, charm, and exceptional team.
And from the moment the day began, it was clear—this wedding was one for the books.
Kristina and Jaysien both work in healthcare, and though their jobs keep them busy, their love has always been something steady. Jaysien admires Kristina’s genuine heart, and Kristina loves Jaysien’s humor and intelligence. Their connection is one of quiet strength and deep joy—something that was woven into every moment of their wedding day.
Their original wedding location was Maui, Hawaii. But as plans shifted, The Grandover Resort and Spa became the dream venue they didn’t know they needed. Kristina had always loved it, and when they toured it together, they knew—it was the place. She shared, “Grandover staff helped us every step of the way with preparing for the wedding of our dreams.”
For Kristina, walking down the aisle held extra significance. Both of her parents had passed away in the last five years. In their place stood three sets of godparents—each from a different culture, each with a meaningful role in her life. As she made her way toward the altar, she stopped at each pair, who took turns walking her forward. It was one of the most touching, emotional parts of the day.
The couple had a Christian wedding ceremony, reflecting the faith they share. But they also wanted to honor Jaysien’s Indian heritage, and they did so in the most thoughtful ways. His family, many of whom had immigrated from India, wore beautiful traditional clothing. And as a surprise, his nieces performed a social dance in celebration of the couple.
Kristina and Jaysien planned a floral wonderland for their wedding day. They were inspired by the colors of spring and wanted the decor to feel bright, vibrant, and full of life. As Kristina shared, “We wanted to embrace the blooming season with abundant flowers, both in decorations and attire.”
The floral designs by Vintage Rose Floral Designs were a perfect match for their vision. From lush bouquets to dreamy ceremony arrangements, the day felt like it was straight out of a garden fairytale. Blue, Jaysien’s favorite color, was woven into the design throughout—another personal touch that made the celebration feel truly theirs.
From the sweeping staircase to the sun-drenched gardens, The Grandover Resort gave this destination wedding a sense of elegance and peace. With support from the staff and their wedding planner, Perfect Peony Events, every detail was beautifully executed. The couple got ready on site, with Updo’s Studio handling hair and makeup, and Kristina wore a stunning Sophia Tolli gown from Bridal Reflections.
The reception was filled with music by A Night to Remember and sweet treats from Edible Artistry, who created a cake as lovely as it was delicious.
Just when the reception seemed like it couldn’t get any more fun, Kristina reappeared in a gorgeous traditional sari—and joined Jaysien’s nieces in their choreographed dance! The look on his face said it all. He had no idea she’d been practicing with them in secret.
That surprise moment was pure joy, and it brought the entire room to life.
This day was about more than a wedding—it was about legacy, faith, and love that transcends distance and loss. It honored the people who raised Kristina and the traditions that shaped Jaysien. And most of all, it brought together families from New York to India to celebrate something beautiful.
Kristina and Jaysien’s Indian Fusion Wedding at the Grandover was vibrant, joyful, and deeply meaningful—just like their love story.
