Charleston has a way of drawing you in with its undeniable charm: pastel homes, cobblestone streets, and the kind of light that makes every moment feel cinematic. For Brittney and Ricky, this city isn’t just beautiful—it’s meaningful. As they prepare for their wedding at Donovan Manor, it felt only fitting to capture their engagement session in one of Brittney’s favorite cities.
Brittney and Ricky are the kind of couple who truly light up a room. Their chemistry is palpable, their laughter infectious, and their connection effortless. After meeting, they quickly realized they had found something rare. Brittney soon relocated from Atlanta to North Carolina to begin their new life together. Both successful in their careers and with a shared love for travel and fine dining, they’re a true powerhouse couple—stylish, confident, and deeply in love.

We began their engagement session at one of the most iconic Charleston photo spots, the U.S. Customs House. Its grand marble stairs and towering columns made the perfect backdrop for their first look of the day. The early morning light was soft and golden, adding an elegant glow that matched Brittney’s sleek outfit and radiant smile.
From there, we walked toward the Charleston River Walk, where the famous Pineapple Fountain welcomed us with its refreshing spray. The area is one of the most beloved Charleston engagement photo locations, offering a mix of waterfront views and manicured gardens that create a naturally romantic setting.

A short stroll away, we stopped at Rainbow Row, the pastel-painted stretch that symbolizes Charleston’s architecture and charm. Although the morning light wasn’t ideal there, we loved how the colors added a playful touch to their portraits. Sometimes the most authentic moments happen when plans shift, and Brittney and Ricky handled it with their usual grace and laughter.

After a quick outfit change, we made our way to the Pink House, one of Charleston’s most photographed historic homes. Its blush-colored exterior and ivy-lined brick gave the perfect romantic texture to their second look. Brittney’s fashion sense shone here, her modern outfit pairing beautifully with the historic charm.
We continued back toward Battery Park, where the coastal breeze and blooming azaleas framed the perfect scene. Every step of the way, these two radiated joy.
There’s something timeless about Charleston. Whether you’re exploring Rainbow Row, the Battery, or the Customs House, every corner offers a story. The city’s historic architecture, soft coastal light, and scenic waterfront views make it one of the top engagement photo locations in the Carolinas and beyond.
For couples like Brittney and Ricky—stylish, passionate, and drawn to classic beauty—it’s an ideal setting to celebrate love.

As Raleigh wedding photographers, we can’t wait to capture Brittney and Ricky’s upcoming wedding at Donovan Manor. If their engagement session in Charleston is any indication, their wedding day will be nothing short of unforgettable: elegant, full of emotion, and centered on what matters most—the two of them.
