Brenna and Landon’s winter wedding at Board and Batten Events felt like a reunion wrapped in celebration. Not just because so many guests had known them their entire lives, but because the day carried the ease and warmth of spending time with old friends. Even on a cold December afternoon, the atmosphere felt familiar, joyful, and deeply rooted in connection.
Set just days before Christmas, their wedding embraced the beauty of winter without leaning into holiday themes. Instead, the design focused on a classic red, black, and white palette, creating a look that felt timeless, seasonal, and entirely their own.

Brenna and Landon grew up together. Their families were best friends long before they ever considered dating. It was not until college that their relationship shifted into something more, grounded in shared history and mutual trust.
Landon proposed during a February trip to UNC Chapel Hill, Brenna’s alma mater. At the campus well, surrounded by a place that held meaning for her, the proposal was a complete surprise. It set the tone for a relationship built on thoughtfulness and quiet intention.
That same energy shaped their wedding day.

Board and Batten Events in Lexington provided the perfect setting for Brenna and Landon’s vision. The property offers a balance of structure and warmth, allowing winter weddings to feel intimate rather than stark.
The venue’s clean lines and natural textures created a strong foundation for their color palette, while still feeling inviting on a cold December day. Guests gathered comfortably, conversations lingered, and the space felt like it was made for togetherness.
For a couple whose story is so deeply tied to family and shared history, the environment mattered.

Rather than a traditional first look, Brenna and Landon chose a first touch with private vows. It was one of the most meaningful moments of the day.
Away from the crowd, they stood back to back, hands intertwined, reading vows they had written for one another. There was no pressure to perform. No eyes watching. Just space to ground themselves before the ceremony began.
This moment set the emotional tone for everything that followed.

From the beginning, Brenna was clear about what she wanted to remember.
Her mom helping her into her dress.
A first look with her dad and brother.
Moments that felt real and unrepeatable.
Those family interactions carried throughout the day. During the ceremony, the weight of walking down the aisle felt deeply personal, not just a tradition, but a moment years in the making.
Board and Batten Events provided the space and pacing to allow these moments to unfold without being rushed, which made them all the more meaningful.

Brenna and Landon wanted a winter wedding, not a Christmas wedding. That distinction guided every design decision.
Florals by Tammy K Designs leaned into seasonal texture and contrast without relying on holiday motifs. The red, black, and white palette felt bold yet classic, striking the right balance between warmth and refinement.
Brenna’s gown from Carolina Bridal World Triad fit seamlessly into the overall aesthetic, timeless and elegant without feeling overdone.

Just before entering the reception, Brenna and Landon changed into matching UNC blue sneakers. It was playful. Personal. And entirely them.
We paused to document the moment as they slipped on their shoes together, a quiet reminder that even on a formal day, comfort and personality still mattered.
This is where weddings often feel most real.

Brenna and Landon honored traditional dances, including a dedicated bouquet moment for Brenna’s mom, while intentionally skipping elements that did not feel right for them, like the bouquet and garter toss.
The reception flowed naturally, with guests filling the dance floor and spending time together without feeling pulled from moment to moment. The energy stayed relaxed, joyful, and genuine.
On a cold December night, the room felt warm.

Brenna and Landon’s Board and Batten Events wedding was not about spectacle. It was about people.
It was about families who had grown up together. A couple stepping into marriage after years of shared history. And a winter day that felt more like a gathering than an event.
Photographing this wedding felt less like documenting a production and more like being welcomed into a story that had already been unfolding for years.
