I am so excited to share one of my favorite bride shoots from 2021 at Chestnut Ridge in Asheville, NC!

I was invited by fellow photographer, Maria Makovich, to Chestnut Ridge, in Asheville NC to photograph this beautiful bride and extraordinary details. She and Dream Events by Daria executed this beautiful vision flawlessly!

The Venue: Chestnut Ride Events

This was my first time at Chestnut Ridge. It is well off the beaten path, nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. You come for the views, but stay for beautiful detail found in every inch of this venue! The bright, airy chapel faces the ridge and just below it is the big white barn. This barn is not your typical, rustic barn venue. It has elevated the typical rustic barn look to another level. The interior is all white with a few wooden details. Windows line the walls and bring in light from all directions. A lovely staircase leads up to the bridal suite where those beautiful views are waiting.

The Florals

Daria is one of the most talented florists I have had the pleasure to work with. Her attention to detail is second to none. Based out of Asheville, she works with brides at Chestnut Ridge quite often. She prides herself at created “exquisite florals for the sophisticated bride.” I cannot disagree. The arrangements she created for this shoot were both exquisite and sophisticated. The large, full rose blooms were complemented by soft, romantic peonies and ranunculus. The blush, cream and pop of coral, color palette was perfect for early spring.

The Bride

Our model, Natalie, wore two custom gowns from Angela Kim Couture. She designs custom gowns for the petite bride in Asheville, NC. The first was a long, flowy A-line with cutouts and puffy sleeves. It was very romantic with a little bit of edge. Next, Natalie wore a classic lace gown with a a more fit-and-flair silhouette. Her hair and make up look was completed by Flawless Airbrush, a frequent visitor to Chestnut Ridge.
